This project involved the conversion of an old United States Army Arsenal complex into the corporate headquarters for the major independent grocery company of south Texas. By selective demolition, heavy remodeling, and major additions to the existing buildings and by the addition of an arcade and the new three-story building to the north, a new courtyard complex has been formed. The intent in the design of the new work has been to develop an architectural character responsive to the utilitarian character of existing buildings, the rich and unique architecture of the region and the requirements of a corporate headquarters.
